The 12-1 Method: Photoperiodic Control—short night duration

So there is a new growing method out there that is getting talked about, its called the “12-1” method.  Its a way to grow plants with less light, and less electricity, saving you money and creating a more affordable or profitable product.

12 hours ON, 5.5 hours OFF, 1 hour ON, and 5.5 hours OFF for each 24 hour period.

There it is people, you can’t really do better than that.  24 hours works, but its overkill…and so is  18-6 lighting cycles.  I have used 18-6  before and it worked, so did 24 hours for vegetative and flowering 12 on 12 off, to trick the plant into thinking its fall or harvest season (shorter days, less light).

Cannabis  from the Greek word kalamos which means reed or cane,  and sativa means “useful”… you figure it out. its a weed and it grows like one, pretty much no matter what, unless you water it too much.

12-1 application, if you want to reduce your power bill further 75-80%.   Then follow the new schedule for 12-1. Switch your timers to 1/2 hour on 1/2 hour off, 12 times, then put 1hr on middle of night period, you have just cut your veg power consumption to 7 hrs, plants stay in veg, in fact you can reduce even further to 15 minutes on 45 minutes off 12 times, 1 hr on in the mid night period plants stay in veg.

I have changed the flower schedule to 10 on 14 off, plants go into flower faster and finish faster and phatter, works beautiful for perpetual gardens
